A low MCHC means the measured concentration of hemoglobin inside red blood cells is below the lab's reference range. It may appear with iron-deficiency anemia or inherited hemoglobin conditions, but it does not diagnose either one by itself. Ask a clinician to review it with hemoglobin, MCV, iron tests, the rest of the CBC, symptoms, history, and trends.
